Except they're difficult when designing something. The dimensions aren't normal in Metric or English units. Why? Well, I did a little research. The size and shape of an A1 sheet of paper is one square meter, and the ratio of the sides is one to the square root of two. An A2 sheet of paper is an A1 cut in half... and so on.
