Going Away Party

Our good friend, Yvette, hosted a going away party for us this last weekend. She went all out. . . delicious BBQ'd skewers, fruit kebabs, a fresh green salad, corn-on-the-cob, iced tea served with little umbrella straws, croquet, and about 30 of our closest friends here in town. Here are a few photos from the evening. The last one (yet another example of Yvette's creativity!) was my favorite party decoration.

Did you know that the airport code for Singapore's International Airport, Changi, is SIN? A dream-come-true for a pun-loving girl like myself. =)

We have a place to live!

After being denied for the apartment that we really wanted because we have an infant, I was starting to get nervous about the housing situation. But God changed the heart of the landlord and upon second request (with a little sweet talking from our contact in Singapore), he agreed to rent to us! Here is a picture of the apartment.
Turns out, most apartments in Singapore come partially furnished. That will be a blessing for us (provided the furniture isn't nasty) since we don't really want to purchase much while we're there, since we're only going to be there two years.
