A Dozen Eggs (minus 2)

I've lived here for TWO YEARS and I just realized that the "dozen eggs" I've been buying is actually not a dozen. It's ten. All the eggs here are sold in 10-packs. And, the worst part is that I wasn't even the one that realized it. . . Josh told me.

Pretty lame, huh (me, not the fact that the eggs are sold in 10's)!?!

Oh dear. It seems you have inherited my idiosyncrasy!

Remember when I worked at MVC? THREE months after I was there, I said to a co-worker, "I think I'll go to the 7-11 to buy some cold water."

She looked at me strangely, and said, "Why don't you just fill your glass up from the water fountain? It's really cold!"

I asked, "What water fountain?!"

Turns out, I had been walking past a refrigerated water fountain inside the front door of our office every day, and NEVER noticed it!

That is just one example of my Weird Blindness.

Now, we have one of yours!

P.S. I had to count those eggs twice to make sure. It DOES look like a dozen!

Keep close count of the number of children you have! ;-)

i have my own story ...

the sink in mom's kitchen, which i did, strangely enough, spend some time doing dishes in, is two levels. however, i don't think i realized this until i was 16. one day i said to mom, "DID WE GET A NEW SINK?? THIS SIDE'S LOWER!!"

no, of course, not; i just don't pay attention to detail unless it is in literature.

Further proof of our strange DNA.

Not that I am an immediate family member, but it was just a few years ago that I realized, the terms million, billion, trillion, quadrillion were in the order of the prefixes that represent 1, 2 (bi-), 3 (tri-), 4 (quad-), etc...

Pretty funny about the eggs though!

wow, that is lame rebecca :) I only figured out the egg thing b/c we arrived shortly before easter and I was looking for the egg cartons that we are used to in the states and wanted white eggs, and a white egg, or carton could not be found anywhere...so in one of my "i hate singapore days" I analyzed all the reasons I hated singapore eggs, and only 10 in a pack was one of the reasons. But then of course, you get used to them and coming back to the states to white eggs again was really odd. And having to go to the refridgerated section for them was even odder :)

Hey Rebecca!

It's Katie Peckham. I'm trying to get in touch with you to ask you a question, but don't think I have your current email address. Could you email me from your current address? Thanks!
